Electronic call monitoring

Real-time visit tracking, medication records and care notes, all visible to families through our app. You do not have to wonder whether the carer turned up or what happened during the visit. You can see it.

What this means in practice

No more wondering what happened

One of the biggest anxieties for families arranging home care is not knowing what is happening when they are not there. Did the carer turn up? What time did they arrive? Did they give the medication? How was Mum today? Without visibility, you are relying on trust and the occasional phone call to the office.

Our electronic call monitoring system removes that uncertainty. Every visit is tracked in real time. When the carer arrives, they log in through their phone. When they leave, they log out. The exact times are recorded automatically, not written down by hand. You can see this information through the family app within minutes.

Families tell us the visibility is the thing that gives them the most peace of mind.

What we hear most often

But it goes beyond visit times. After each visit, the carer writes notes about what happened. What care was provided, how the client seemed, whether they ate well, if there was anything unusual. These notes appear in the app so you can read them at a time that suits you. On your lunch break, in the evening, whenever you want to check in.

Who this is for

Transparency for every family

If transparency matters to you, and it should, this is relevant regardless of which service you receive from us. Every family using Your Home Care gets access to the monitoring system. Whether your parent has one visit a week or live-in care, the same level of recording and visibility applies.

It is particularly valuable for families who do not live close by. If you are an hour's drive away, or in another part of the country entirely, the app means you are not relying on secondhand information. You can see exactly what is happening, when, and form your own view of how things are going.

It is also useful if you are coordinating care with other family members. Multiple people can have access to the app, so siblings can all stay informed without one person having to relay everything by phone.

What makes us different

How we do it

Built on an NHS Assured platform, designed for families. Real-time tracking, electronic records and complete transparency as standard.

Real-time visit tracking

Every visit is logged automatically when the carer arrives and leaves. No handwritten timesheets. You see exact arrival and departure times through the family app within minutes.

Electronic care notes

After every visit the carer writes up what happened, how the client was, and anything worth noting. You can read it all through the app on your own time.

Medication logging

Every dose is recorded with the exact time and the name of the person who administered it. If medication is refused, that is logged too, along with the reason if known.

NHS Assured platform

The system runs on one of the leading care management platforms in the UK. It is reliable, secure, GDPR compliant and genuinely easy for families to use.

We also use the data to spot trends. If a client's care notes show declining appetite over a fortnight, or increased confusion, or a pattern of refusing medication, our care managers can act on it before it becomes a crisis. This kind of proactive monitoring is one of the real benefits of electronic recording over paper-based systems.

Your questions answered

Common questions about electronic call monitoring

Answers to the things families ask us most often.

Yes, but it is straightforward. The app is available for iOS and Android and takes a couple of minutes to set up. Once you are logged in, you can see visit times, care notes and medication records. If you would rather not use the app, you can call the office and we will give you the same information over the phone.

Our system flags late visits automatically. If a carer has not checked in within the expected window, the office is alerted and we contact the carer immediately. If there is going to be a delay, we let the client and family know. It does not happen often. Our on-time rate is 99%. But when it does, we deal with it quickly.

Yes. The carer records notes after each visit detailing what they did, how the client was, and any observations. Medication administration is logged separately with exact times and details. You can see all of this through the app.

We collect visit times, care notes, medication records and basic client information. All data is stored securely in compliance with UK data protection regulations (GDPR). Access is restricted to authorised family members and care staff. The system is encrypted and audited regularly.

Our system is designed to prevent missed visits. If a carer does not check in, the office is alerted within minutes and we arrange cover. In the rare event that a visit is missed due to an emergency, we contact the family immediately, assess the client’s safety, and arrange a make-up visit. Our tracking record shows missed visits are exceptionally rare.
