Meet Harriett, our new Registered Care Manager
We’d like to welcome Harriett to our team, as our new Registered Care Manager. This is such an important role to play in the every day working of Your Home Care. Our Registered Care Manager must be a proven good leader and want to succeed, driving Your Home Care to have the very best home care assistants providing the Outstanding care services that we are so very proud of. We needed someone friendly and approachable, whilst being confident in their decision making and communication. We like to think our standards were high but achievable, wanting the best for our team, and along came Harriett!
First, a little about Harriett.
Originally from Nottingham, Harriett left home at the age of 16 and joined the army as a medic. After leaving the military, Harriett has been working in the care industry for the last 13 years now. Beginning as a support worker, a carer, worked for nurse recruitment companies, she gained all the relevant qualifications whilst working and became a Registered Care Manager.
Harriett has worked for some outstanding companies and acquired invaluable experience and skills that she says have shaped her into an effective and compassionate leader. The knowledge and experience she has gained whilst working for other companies, we know will be transferrable and allow Harriett to help us grow whilst continuing to provide the best care to our clients.
She says she has had some truly amazing experiences in her career, which have allowed her to be part of some great achievement, such as the Pride of Essex and the Great British Care Awards.
Outside of work, Harriet’s caring nature extends to the animal world; she has a rescue dog from Croatia, lovingly named Sir George. In her spare time she enjoys accompanying Sir George on long walks, hiking and climbing mountains; she particularly likes walking in the Peak District. And when she’s not being active and outdoorsy, she’s spending time at home with her family or dabbling in the odd bit of DIY.
The first time we met Harriett, we knew she was “the one”. Her experience was exactly what we were looking in our new manager, and her personality was a perfect fit. With a beaming smile, Harriett is laid back, bubbly and funny. She has blended into the office beautifully, like she’s been there all along!
Harriett says:
I am looking forward to working with the team at Your Home Care, seeing how they make a difference to those we support and seeing what makes Your Home Care the only outstanding Homecare provider in Mansfield. I hope to help Your Home Care expand whilst maintaining its prized Outstanding rating from the CQC.
I love the fact that Paul and the team at Your Home Care have goals that I too share. We want to remain Outstanding, we want to expand into new areas, and we want to diversify our workforce, for example attracting more male carers.
The fact that Your Home Care achieved its Outstanding rating in such a short space of time is testament to the hard work and vision of all involved with the company right at the start. I want to be part of the exciting journey going forward.
Paul says:
Harriett brings with her a vast wealth of experience and skills that will not only help the company on a day-to-day level but also help it to expand and become even more of a success. Her role at Your Home Care is to manage the day-to-day delivery of care, to meet new clients, to make sure that staff are sufficiently trained, and to ensure that all colleagues, whether office based or out in the community, always adhere to the standards required by the CQC.
We’re very pleased to have you on our team, Harriett! We’re looking forward to see you settle confidently into your new role and confidently help us remain successful and achieve our goals for the future.
And we weren’t the only one’s excited to welcome Harriett; our local news outlet also wanted to introduce Harriett to our local community on our behalf! You can read the article here: (chad.co.uk)
