Proud to Care Awards 2024

This year, we had members of our team nominated for the first ever Nottinghamshire Proud to Care Awards.
These awards are designed to recognise and thank people who work in the private care sector across Nottinghamshire, across various roles in care homes, day care services, home care and supported living.
The award ceremony was held at Eastwood Hall in Nottingham. It gave finalists, their colleagues, guests and sponsors an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of those who work in social care. They were able to connect with others in similar work environments, share ideas and be inspired by moving stories of how care has transformed people’s lives.
From our own team, we had 3 wonderful people nominated for an award!
Jane, our scheduler, was nominated for the Office & Operational Staff Member Award, sponsored by Vision West Notts College.
Jane was nominated because she has been a backbone of Your Home Care since joining as a Senior Carer in October 2020. Promoted to Scheduler in September 2023, Jane has been instrumental to our success, greatly improving client satisfaction and staff retention by resolving long-standing issues. Her dedication, problem solving skills and proactive approach have not only stabilised our service but have also driven significant growth.
Her focus on continuity has strengthened client relationships and improved care quality. For staff, jane’s scheduling has reduced travel times, lowered stress and enhanced work-life balance. Thanks to her leadership, we’ve seen 50% client growth, a 30% reduction in mileage costs, and a boost to team morale.
Jane’s dedication and problem solving skills make her the deserving recipient of this award.
Diane, one of many wonderful home care assistants, was nominated for the Community Care Professional Award, sponsored by Carebeans.
Diane is nominated for her exceptional dedication and positive impact in community care.
Her cheerful demeanour brightens the day for clients, who eagerly look forward to her visits./ her compassion shines through when she spends her lunch breaks with clients who struggle to eat, ensuring they receive proper meals.
Diane is a true asset to the team, reliable and always willing to help Her commitment to high standards and clear communications fosters a supportive environment. This thoughtful approach improves daily living for clients, especially those with dementia, as she endure they never go without. Her methodical approach has minimised mistakes, leading to significant service improvements. Team members feel reassured by her patience, while dailies appreciate the enhanced quality of care she provides.
Over 200 people attended the celebration, where guests enjoyed a day of music, fun and laughter, and hearing what made the winners’ and finalists’ contributions to care so richly deserved.
We had a wonderful afternoon out as a team and we are so proud of those who were nominated. Receiving a nomination like this means that they really are dedicated to their job and to their clients.
We wouldn’t have achieved our Outstanding CQC rating, if it weren’t for Outstanding team members to help us along the way.
From all of us here at Your Home Care, congratulations to all of the nominees and winners and we hope to see you all again next year.
